Baby and Toddler Room Supervisors
Bijou Day Nursery and Creche is opening its doors in September in Cowbridge and we require 2 Full-time staff to join the team as room supervisors.
Bijou has for many years been a successful Playcentre and we have been slowly planning the transition to a day nursery and creche for 50 children offering full day care to wrap around care for school children.
Our first phase is opening in September for 19 children from babies to 8 years. We have created a dedicated baby room, a toddler space, a sensory room as well as a messy play room and canteen and of course our much loved play frame. We shall be doing lots of physical development activities with the children, alongside our interactive educational BEAM toy, which has been imported across from the USA. Ultimately we shall be growing to offer 50 places as well as wrap around care.
Qualifications & Experience:
You will hold a level 3 Childcare qualification and have at least 2 years experience of working with children in a Nursery environment with excellent references.
You will report to the Nursery Manager on a daily basis and will be expected to take full responsibility for the children in your room as well as being a key worker to some.
We are going to be a fully digital nursery and to facilitate this we use the FAMLY app which you will be fully trained on. This app will be used for in-day updates for parents related to food, activities as well as any notifications for the parents like observations or achieving milestones. Parents want to be involved and you will be expected to lead the way for that involvement.
You will have your own key children to look after and as the Nursery grows you will have additional children and staff to be responsible for.
You will be expected to know the standard that we want to implement and you will be the person of excellence expected to ensure that all staff reach this standard plus you will be required to demonstrate that standard to new members so they know what is required.
This role is very hands on and requires an enthusiastic approach with a calm efficiency and quiet professionalism, thereby engendering this in the staff and fostering this in the environment, so the children feel safe, cared for, happy and they are learning. This means that parents are comfortable with leaving their children in our care.
You will be paid an hourly rate above Minimum wage depending on your age, experience and level of qualification.
You will be entitled to 25 days paid holiday plus additional statutory holidays and we will not be opening over Christmas.
In the first instance please send your CV detailing your experience and listing your qualifications to email@example.com
